Founded in 2014, we have grown from a local operation into a trusted services partner supporting complex, high-compliance and multi-site environments. Our approach combines disciplined systems, proactive asset management and measurable service performance.

David Pollock MBA, FAICD

Chairperson

David brings over 20 years of CEO-level experience leading large scale cleaning and facility service businesses across Australia, New Zealand and Asia, delivering strategic growth and strong client partnerships.

Throughout his career, David has led large, multi-regional operations and scaled organisations with employee numbers up to 4000.

David has studied at Harvard, Monash and Canberra Universities and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

He is a current Judge for the Telstra Australia Business Awards and an experienced Director having served on both commercial and not-for-profit Boards with exposure across a range of business sectors.

Katie Hale

Managing Director

Under the leadership of Founder and Managing Director Katie Hale, Spec Services has grown from a local operation into a nationally expanding, female-led organisation recognised for its operational excellence and commitment to sustainability.

Guided by a values-driven and inclusive culture, Katie champions structured, accountable service models, invests in technology-led innovation, and ensures the company’s national growth remains closely connected to local communities.

Her strategic vision focuses on scaling responsibly across Australia while upholding service standards, empowering people, and embedding sustainability into every aspect of the business.

Mike de Souza

Director - Growth & Innovation

Mike is an experienced executive with more than 45 years of leadership across services, tourism, logistics, and hospitality in the United States, Europe, and Australia. He brings deep expertise in business growth, innovation, start-ups, and expansion, with a strong track record in high-value contract negotiations, mergers, acquisitions, and complex commercial outcomes.

At Spec Services, Mike has led complex projects, overseen major contract negotiations, and driven operational and strategic outcomes across the business. He played a critical role during the COVID-19 pandemic, securing essential equipment and PPE to maintain service continuity, and has been instrumental in advancing innovation within the company’s Biological and Environmental division. Mike is passionate about sustainable growth, business diversification, and delivering long-term value for stakeholders.
