The mop is dipped in water or a cleaning solution, wrung out to remove excess liquid, and then used to wipe or scrub the floor to remove dirt, dust, stains, and bacteria. Mopping can be done using different techniques, such as wet mopping for deep cleaning or dry/dust mopping for light surface cleaning.
